Support for Emotion Based School Avoidance (EBSA), Wellbeing and Engagement.
Work with young people to develop skills in areas of social engagement and understanding and regulating their feelings and emotions.
IEP or EHCP outcomes may include:
Through discussion with setting, family and young person, build an understanding of the young person’s presenting barriers and concerns.
Deliver a personalised, adaptive programme drawing on CBT-based approaches to identify personal barriers and work with the young person through phased introduction and progressive steps to build engagement..
Interventions draw on experience across a range of approaches, including ‘Drawing and Talking’, ‘Lego-Therapy’, social skills interventions such as ’SuperFlex’, ‘Socially Speaking’, and through the use of reflective review of situations and scenarios through communication scripts, role-play, and story telling, as appropriate for the young person’s learning needs and style.
Use of Restorative and relational approaches to, where appropriate, repair and build connections to support engagement.
